The World's first concrete skateboard park was made in California. No one knew the skateboard park boom was about to begin. There were a lot of skateparks that were built in the next twenty years. Now there are more than 2,600 skateparks in America. The popularity of skateboarding has taken off with the pros, like Tony Hawk, who have brought it to the main stream.
