About Skateboarding
The first skateboarders rode down hills in Carlsbad, CA with clay wheels to mimic the waves of surfing. Not until the 1970's, the first skatepark was made in Southern California. No one knew the skateboard building boom was about to begin. Today, there are more than 2,600 skateparks in America. Skateboarding has taken off with the pros, such as Rob Drydek and Shaun White, who have brought it to the main stream.
