About
The first skateboarders rode down hills in Carlsbad, CA with clay wheels to mimic the waves of surfing. The first skate park was made in Southern California. Shortly after, the skateboard building boom was about to begin. Thousands skateparks that were built in the next few years. Now there are more than 2,600 skateparks in America. Skateboarding has taken off with the pros, like Tony Hawk, who have brought it to the main stream.
