About Skateboarding
The first skaters took big wooden boards into empty swimming pools to mimic the waves of surfing. The World's first concrete skateboard park was made in Southern California. Next the skateboard boom was about to begin. There were a lot of skateparks that were built in the next dozen years. Today, there are more than 2,600 skateparks in America. Skateboarding has taken off with the pros, such as Rob Drydek and Shaun White, who have brought it to the main stream.
