Skateboarding is a great sport. The first skaters took big wooden boards into empty swimming pools so that they would have an activity to do when the surf wan't good. Many years later, the first skatepark was made in Southern California. Shortly after, the skateboard boom was about to begin. Thousands skate parks that were built in the next twenty years. The popularity of skateboarding has taken off with the pros, like Tony Hawk, who have brought it to the main stream.
