About
The first skateboarders rode down hills in Carlsbad, CA with clay wheels so that they would have an activity to do when the surf wan't good. The World's first skatepark was made in Southern California. Shortly after, the skateboard building boom was about to begin. There were a lot of skateparks that were built in the next years. Today, there are more than 2,600 skateparks in America. The popularity of skateboarding has taken off with the pros, like Tony Hawk, who have brought it to the main stream.
