About
The first skateboarders took big wooden boards into empty swimming pools to take their surfing to the streets. The first concrete skateboard park was made in Southern California. No one knew the skateboard building boom was about to begin. There were a lot of skateparks that were built in the next dozen years. Now there are more than 2,600 skateparks in America. Skateboarding has taken off with the pros, such as Rob Drydek and Shaun White, who have brought it to the main stream.
