About
Skateboarding is a great sport. The first skateboarders took big wooden boards into empty swimming pools to mimic the waves of surfing. Not until the 1970's, the first skatepark was made in Southern California. Shortly after, the skateboard boom was about to begin. There were a lot of skateparks that were built in the next dozen years. Today, there are more than 2,600 skateparks in America. Skateboarding has taken off with the pros, like Tony Hawk, who have brought it to the main stream.
