About
Skateboarding is a great sport. The first skaters took big wooden boards into empty swimming pools to mimic the waves of surfing. Not until the 1970's, the first concrete skateboard park was made in Southern California. No one knew the skateboard building boom was about to begin. There were a lot of skateparks that were built in the next few years. Now there are more than 2,600 skateparks in America. Skateboarding has taken off with the pros, like Tony Hawk, who have brought it to the main stream.
