Skateboarding is a great sport. The first skaters took big wooden boards into empty swimming pools to take their surfing to the streets. The World's first skatepark was made in Southern California. No one knew the skateboard boom was about to begin. There were a lot of skateparks that were built in the next few years. Skateboarding has taken off with the pros, such as Rob Drydek and Shaun White, who have brought it to the main stream.
