Skateboarding is a great sport. The first skaters took big wooden boards into empty swimming pools to mimic the waves of surfing. The first concrete skateboard park was made in Southern California. Next the skateboard park boom was about to begin. There were a lot of skate parks that were built in the next twenty years. Today, there are more than 2,600 skateparks in America. The popularity of skateboarding has taken off with the pros, such as Rob Drydek and Shaun White, who have brought it to the main stream.
