Skateboarding is a great sport. The first skaters took big wooden boards into empty swimming pools to mimic the waves of surfing. Many years later, the first skate park was made in Southern California. Shortly after, the skateboard building boom was about to begin. Now there are more than 2,600 skateparks in America. The popularity of skateboarding has taken off with the pros, like Tony Hawk, who have brought it to the main stream.
