The first concrete skateboard park was made in California. No one knew the skateboard boom was about to begin. It was thousands of skate parks that were built in the next twenty years. Today, there are more than 2,600 skateparks in America. The popularity of skateboarding has taken off with the pros, like Tony Hawk, who have brought it to the main stream.
