We have even taught a 78 year-old grandfather who wanted to skate with his grandchildren. Skateboarding is a great sport. The first skaters rode down hills in Carlsbad, CA with clay wheels to mimic the waves of surfing. Not until the 1970's, the first skateboard park was made in California. No one knew the skateboard building boom was about to begin. It was thousands of skate parks that were built in the next years. The popularity of skateboarding has taken off with the pros, such as Rob Drydek and Shaun White, who have brought it to the main stream.
