The first skateboarders took big wooden boards into empty swimming pools to take their surfing to the streets. Not until the 1970's, the first skatepark was made in California. Shortly after, the skateboard building boom was about to begin. Many skate parks that were built in the next years. The popularity of skateboarding has taken off with the pros, such as Rob Drydek and Shaun White, who have brought it to the main stream.
